AURÄI, a global enterprise AI assurance firm, opened its platform at the ISACA Lagos Chapter’s 30th anniversary conference, according to Technext24. The launch took place on Friday, Day 2 of the event at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Founder and CEO Olayinka James warned that while 88% of organisations use AI in at least one function and 93% of internal audit functions use AI, only 38% have a strategy or comprehensive policy, a point echoed by Nairametrics. He said typical enterprises now run more than 150 AI tools that IT teams have never seen.

Why it matters to your business

For Nigerian businesses, weak AI oversight can lead to operational, financial and reputational risks, especially in banking, fintech and public‑sector services where automated decisions affect customers and citizens. The platform offers a way to produce evidence for internal assurance, external auditors, regulators and boards, helping firms meet requirements such as the EU AI Act.

AURÄI also trains and certifies professionals to operate its AI agents, creating a new workforce role that could help Nigerian companies close the gap between rapid AI adoption and limited governance.

What to do on Monday

  1. Review your inventory of AI tools and assess whether you have a formal governance policy.
  2. Explore AURÄI’s discovery and control‑testing features to document AI system risk and compliance.
  3. Consider upskilling staff or hiring AI assurance professionals to oversee automated decision‑making.
